Powerloss protection

Many circumstances can generate a power-cut for electronic systems: e.g. an AC commercial outage, the failure or the change-out of a primary battery. Long storage and long shipping times between the final test of the system in the factory and the date of effective power on by the end user can also explain full discharge of the primary battery.

In many electronic systems, retaining critical data or status information is a must in case of primary power interruption.

Whereas average time for changing out a primary battery is not more than 30minutes, some AC outages can last much longer than 4 days. For some industrial applications, power back-up capability over 30 days are even required.

On the other hand, in some Hardware Security Modules (HSM), it is essential to have a very compact reserve of energy to destroy physically a secure element in case of active tampering or attempt to access physically the content of such secure element.

Take benefit of the small footprint, of the broad operating temperature range and of the high energy storage density of ITEN SMD micro-batteries also capable of delivering high peak currents on demand to erase such secure elements;

ITEN micro-batteries are also safe, easy to assemble (pick & place and solder reflow) and easy to recycle just like any other SMD components!

Depending on the leakage currents of the Real-Time-Clocks, the microcontroller, the SRAM memory or the cache memory of DRAM to be backed-up, ITEN micro-batteries are the solution of choice.

ITEN helps you to select the right micro-battery meeting your requirements.
