The lifetime of a watch battery is generally between two and five years. It obviously depends upon the number of functions on board of the watch and the amount of energy required by each of them. Because the sudden stop of the watch due to the battery failure is a subject of irritation for the watch owner and because of the cost and time usually associated to the replacement of the battery, most of watch makers are thus considering alternative solutions to power up their watches : power-assist of a primary battery by a micro-battery or replacement of the primary battery by a rechargeable battery combined with some energy harvesting solutions (movement, light, etc..) or possibly power-assist of a primary battery are among the preferred possibilities.
ITEN rechargeable micro-batteries do meet all the requirements of such application: very small size, low self-discharge, long lifespan and very fast recharging capabilities. Safety, ease of integration and easy recycling of ITEN SMD micro-batteries are also key advantages for all watchmakers willing to reduce their manufacturing costs and to take care of their customer’s safety.
ITEN helps you to select the right micro-battery meeting your requirements.
